Streu's Pharmacy History
In November of 1954, Richard Streu purchased the Hannon Drug Store from the estate of Harrison Hannan. Lee Kirchner was the first employee Richard hired. Richard encouraged Lee to continue his education to become a pharmacist. In 1962 Lee became a staff pharmacist and along with Richard's son, Glen Streu, joined with Richard to form a partnership that became Streu's Pharmacy, Inc. Many progressive decisions were made and the pharmacy's reputation for quality and services grew.

When Richard Streu retired Lee Kirchner and Glen Streu continued the partnership. Lee's son, Jeff Kirchner, served his pharmacy internship at Streu's and joined the staff as a pharmacist and later became a partner.

Glen Streu retired in 1996 and Lee and Jeff Kirchner became father and son co-workers of Streu's Pharmacy, Inc. Trent was hired as a staff pharmacist and in 1995, he became a partner with Lee and Jeff Kirchner. Nicole Schreiner also served her internship at Streu's Pharmacy, Inc. and later joined the Streu's team as a staff pharmacist. The year 2000 brought changes, Lee Kirchner semi-retired and Nicole Schreiner became a partner with Jeff Kirchner and Trent Zeitler.

The growth of the pharmacy brought about several changes. In the fall of 2005 Streu's Pharmacy, Inc. purchased Bay Natural Foods and moved both businesses to the new Downtown location at 635 Main Street. We continue to serve our patients with our philosophy of integrated traditional and natural medicine under one roof.

The name of Streu's Pharmacy, Inc. continues today, even through there are no Streu family members with the corporation. The wonderful reputation the pharmacy has earned through the years since its inception, with its leadership, its high professional standards and its innovations has earned Streu's Pharmacy, Inc. high recognition throughout the state.

The Marriage
The marriage of Streu's Pharmacy and Bay Natural in the fall of 2005 has brought together the best of both worlds - Traditional and Natural Medicine.
