  • Rotating weekends

What You’ll Do

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will:

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Gather necessary information to process prescriptions correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate patient, medication, and dispensing records.
  • Enter patient demographics, prescription information, and insurance data into pharmacy software systems.
  • Process and adjudicate insurance claims.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, caregivers, and family members.
  • Answer questions and help resolve concerns to meet or exceed patient needs and safety expectations.
  • Communicate professionally with physicians, clinic staff, facility staff, vendors, and healthcare partners.
  • Work closely with pharmacists and team members to support safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Process prescription payments and customer account transactions.
  • Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and storing medications and supplies.
  • Resolve discrepancies and identify opportunities to improve pharmacy processes.
  • Protect patient privacy and secure all protected health information (PHI).
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, state and federal regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members as needed.
  • Serve as a team lead during weekend shifts when assigned.
  • Participate in company initiatives, team meetings, required training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent pharmacy experience.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Experience with pharmacy software and insurance billing.
  • Previous retail, community, long-term care, or specialty pharmacy experience.

Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) Pharmacy Examining Board.

Applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age and have graduated from high school or obtained a high school equivalency diploma (GED); or
  • Be enrolled in a Wisconsin-approved Pharmacy Technician Youth Apprenticeship Program.

Successful candidates must also be willing and able to complete the Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician registration process, including:

  • Submission of an application through the Wisconsin DSPS online credentialing system (LicensE).
  • Payment of the $30 initial Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician registration fee.
  • Disclosure and submission of any required documentation related to malpractice suits or claims, including court documents and settlements, if applicable.
  • Disclosure and submission of any required documentation related to convictions or pending criminal charges, if applicable.
  • An additional $8 state fee applies when the Convictions and Pending Charges form is required.
